Here are December entries from my personal journal. I do not spend much time editing since time is precious. I put down what is on my mind as I write. Please forgive typos and any words you may find ofensives that I may have missed in my quick re read.

Keith's Journal extracts
October 10, Monday
Today was a national holiday here in Kenya so we did not have class. The Spriegals left this morning. It was a difficult farewell but not tearful. We will hopefully see them several times a year since they are at the halfway point in our trip from Shirati to Tanzania. I lost my camera monitor cover yesterday when Ellen and I were hiking the trail so I went and spent a long time searching the trails for it. No success. Ellen spent most of the day studying. Leah played with the Gandy Girls. I studied for about two hours. I had a 10 minute conversation on the road to Brackenhurst with David (one of the Kenyan’s who works at the reception desk. Every time I start feeling good about my improvements in my language skills I have a conversation with someone and don’t understand much. I guess it is really a function of having more in-depth or complicated conversations which I should take as a positive. Looking at it that way does not make me feel much better. The boys called and are eating at Village Market. They want to know if we want them to bring a pizza home for dinner. We said sure, surprise us. I can’t wait to hear their stories and see the pictures from their Safari.
